Tammy - I have just discovered what I think might be the greatest invention in green-clean yet... microfiber. You can pretty much use microfiber cloths with just water to clean everything in your house. It is unbelievable on mirrors and windows... (and bathroom faucets) I say give your tile a little scrub with salt or baking soda and a scrub brush and then wipe down with a damp microfiber cloth. Toss the cloth in the washing machine and reuse forever. yay!

I put my compost in a bucket that I have in my freezer. It works extremely well and you don't really have to deal with smells or messy clean up. Then every week I dump it in the Compost Bins at Granville Island, because I end up going there anyways. Perhaps a bit cumbersome but it works for me.
