I will unplug my cell phone charger and turn off the powerbars in my home when the items plugged in are not in use.

I will walk to and from work more often. This will not only be good for the enviroment, but also good my health. :)

I will use rechargeable batteries!

I will not buy food at the grocery store with excessive packaging and I’ll limit garbage waste to one bag per week.

In my aparment building I have been surprised to see items in the trash when they can easily be recycled.
I am going to post a Blue Cart Recycling poster in my apartment garbage room in both English and Chinese to help clear up any confusion about recyclable materials.

Great resolutions guys! I am going to take my green cleaning a little further and switch to the Seventh Generation laundry soap and dish soap and only buy recycled paper towel and toliet paper :)

I am already doing everything on the Green Tips list - So I will continue to police the bad habits of my Omicron colleages, to make sure recyclable materials are not thrown into the trash =)

I will stop accepting plastic bags when shopping. I will always have a reusable bag with me to carry any purchased goods.

I will look for toxin free beauty products that will not only be better for the environment but for my health as well. Or maybe I will try and make some of my own?

To reduce my carbon footprint, I will make at least two vegan meals per week.

My green resolution is to support local businesses, which will reduce my carbon footprint. Instead of going to Starbucks or Subway, I will go to my local coffee shops and delis. Not only does it support the economy, it also makes life more interesting. Who doesn’t like to discover local gems?

i will install a programable thermostate in my condo to save on energy and follow my boyfriend around turning off the lights in every room after he leaves…

My green resolution is to SELL MY CAR to become a car-free household with my wife. Although my car is a crazy efficient Honda Insight hybrid, I believe my car is more well used by someone else who drives a lot more to get other gas-guzzlers off the road.
I will walk, take more public transit, and join the car co-op to make up for my old driving habits.

I will take my own bags to the grocery store when I go shopping. Meinhardts, IGA and even the liquor store have their own cloth bags that are really good! They are well designed and ‘kind’ on the hands when you are carting a big load …the ones from Meinhardts even look good! :-)

I will reduce the amount of food packaging waste I generate! I’ll bring my own reusable containers from home or from the Omicron kitchen when eating takeout lunch, and only buy coffee when I have my travel mug with me.

My place only has a big garbage bin and all the tenants throw everything in the trash. It is very bad. I will convince and help my landlord to set up a recycling system.
I will carry a re-usable shopping bag with me wherever I go to avoid using plastic bags.

I will walk to and from work everyday and I will convince the rest of the people in my house to turn off/unplug any electronics when not in use.

I will not buy my lunch or coffee without a reusable container or mug. I will also set-up a composting system in our house.

I’m going to remove the concrete driveway behind my house and plant a garden increasing my yard’s ability to deal with storm water

I will try harder to remember to take our own reuseable containers when i buy my lunch. No more waste with lunch - even if the waste is recyclable!

I will be more tidy at home and sweep my hardwood floors frequently. I will also change my biodegradable pine kitty litter more often so that my cat Abbie does not track it over my carpets and flooring. By doing this I will not have to vacuum as much :-) and will save energy as well!
For my kitty litter and garbage I will use either recycled paper bags or biodegradable plastic bags.

I will eat less meat and fish this year and try to eat more vegetarian meals - this is tough; i love meat and fish. If i eat meat and fish, the meat will be organic and the fish will be “oceanwise”!

although this year we will have 2 drivers in the house - my daughter Leah just got her “L” - we will remain a one car family.

I created a network-wide power scheme which will automatically turn off screens/hard drives and places all PC/laptops in “standby” mode after 1-2 hours of inactivity.

This should provide significant power savings during the night when desktops/laptops are not in use.

I also reuse large plastic jugs when buying filtered water.

I’ll try harder to remember to take reuseable containers when I buy my lunch. No more waste with lunch - even if the waste is recyclable! I will continue to use as much gentle persuasion and education on others to show them and convince them of the wisdom of designing and building higher performance buildings.

I will try to remember to take my eco bags grocery shopping all the time vs. half the time. I’ll walk to my kids’ baseball games this spring vs. driving.

I will not drive my car to work; I will be taking a buss instead and often riding my bike.
