Double-sided Printing

On March 31, 2008 o·vert sent out an email letting the office know that all of the printers were set to default print double-sided.  This was part of our initiative to save paper (we also started purchasing 100% post-consumer recycled paper for the office). Employees could still print single-sided, they would just have to change the printer settings.

Pollution Around The Globe

When we live in such a wealthy country surrounded by natural beauty, it can be hard for Canadians to realize just how much effect pollution is having on the rest of the world.  Very often the developed world is using the developing world as its “refuse tipping ground” for waste that it can’t (or won’t) deal with.

Green Scavenger Hunt

The first o-vert initiative following the launch in early March 2008, was a green-themed scavenger hunt spanning one full week.  The purpose of the game was to raise awareness about o-vert, Omicron’s LEED Gold accredited head office space and the firm’s green projects.  It was also designed to encourage team building and communication across all sectors of the firm.
